Diezani booty: EFCC questions former Kebbi Gov,Dakin Garin

The former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Dakin Garin, yesterday, appeared before operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on what he knew about the disbursement of the state’s share of the N450 million given to the state to compromise last year's Presidential poll.

Dakin Garin was reportedly quizzed for hours in the Kano Office of the EFCC and he is said to have made useful statement to his hosts.

It was not clear as at press time whether he would be cleared or asked to return on a new date for further interrogation over the huge cash that was disbursed to all chapters of the PDP in the 36 states and the FCT towards ensuring the success of their presidential candidate. But it is not known how much of the cash received was actually put to work for the intended purpose by the recipients who are now singing different tones.

Each of the states received between N450 million to N700 million depending on the evaluation of the party which was at the commanding height of the nation’s affairs.
