N60billion fraud: Read what EFCC wants Senator Iyiola Omisore to do urgently

Embattled former deputy governor of Osun state Iyiola Omisore is under pressure to make some shocking confessions

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is demanding the list of Senators and House of Representatives members who shared the N60billion strange vote with him

Senator Iyiola Omisore is under serious pressure to name the beneficiaries of the N60billion “budget padding” while he was a member of the National Assembly.

Senator Iyiola Omisore is under the EFCC radar for having a hand in the N60billion strange vote

The former deputy governor does not want to mention the names of legislators to the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). An informant at the anti-graft agency revealed this on Monday, July 11.

According to information gathered, the former Senator is on “bed rest” at the EFCC clinic at Abuja. Omisore  is said to be in stable condition.

“He is in a stable condition, chatting and comparing notes freely with our investigating officers from the clinic,” the source informed.

Another source who spoke said: “Instead of giving the details of budget padding in the 6th National Assembly between 2007 and 2011, Omisore told our operatives that ‘I will help you with the list of those behind 2016 budget padding.’ We said we are only working on the document on budget padding which we retrieved from his residence in Abuja.

“This, however, does not prevent us from going ahead with the ongoing probe of the padding as seen from the evidence in the document. We will crack this dimension to his case.”

On the issue of the document discovered, the former deputy governor joined issues with officials of the EFCC requesting why they were interested in the said document.

The one time Osun state deputy governor was the chairman of the Appropriation Committee while he was a member of the red chambers.

The anti-graft agency discovered a document showing a N60billion “strange” vote in budget of the National Assembly at his Abuja residence.

Furthermore, Omisore was alleged to have paid N2.5 billion to the National Assembly’s management without any genuine reasons.

The former Senator was apprehended at Abuja on Sunday,July 3 for the N4.745 billion which was allegedly allocated to him and other lawmakers by the office of the national security adviser (ONSA).

Out of the shared money, at least N1.310 billion was reportedly traced to Omisore and three companies.

Likewise on Monday, July 11, it was gathered that detectives will question former Defence Minister (state) Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) on Wednesday, July 13 over the N1.299billion flown to the Akure Airport for Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose.
