Zidane says Real Madrid are eyeing Fabregas
A move for the midfielder would be complicated
Zidane looking to keep his midfielder happy
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has revealed his club’s interest in Cesc Fabregas but admits a move for the midfielder would be complicated.
Former Barcelona star Fabregas has been linked with a move Madrid following Antonio Conte’s appointment at Stamford Bridge but Zidane says buying the Spaniard would unsettle his squad.
Fabregas was named among the substitutes in Chelsea’s season-opening 2-1 win over West Ham on Monday with reports claiming he has been offered to Juventus.
Zidane insists he is happy with his midfielder: “If you want to put another central midfielder into the mix then it becomes complicated. Cesc is a great player but it is not very straightforward.
“I am going to end up with a squad where three or four players do not get selected.
“To put another player in there makes it difficult.”
If Fabregas does move to Real Madrid, he will have to compete with the like of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Casemiro, Mateo Kovacic and Isco for a place in central midfield.
