According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syrian airstrikes hit a school in Northwestern killing 35 people, 11 children and 7 women inclusive on Wednesday night- and the death toll is expected to rise with many in critical condition.
UNICEF, the United Nation's agency for children, said that the strikes are a war crime.
"It's a tragedy. It's an outrage. And if deliberate, it's a war crime. This latest atrocity may be the deadliest attack on a school since the war began more than five years ago."" UNICEF executive director Tony Lake said in a statement.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the jets are Syria owned, but they could also be Russia owned as Russia and Syria have joined forces in the constant air attacks in war torn Aleppo area of Syria and many medical and educational facilities have relocated to underground bases to continue operating.
